Dental emergency

In pain right now? Call us first.

When to call

If any of this sounds familiar, don't wait

While you wait

Simple steps that help before you arrive

  1. 1Rinse gently with warm salt water to keep the area clean.
  2. 2Use a cold compress on the outside of the cheek for swelling.
  3. 3Take over-the-counter pain relief as directed on the label.
  4. 4Avoid very hot, cold, hard or sugary foods on that side.
  5. 5Never place aspirin directly against the gum — it can burn the tissue.

Life-threatening symptoms

If you have difficulty breathing or swallowing, uncontrolled bleeding, or facial swelling spreading toward the eye or neck, go to the nearest emergency room or call 911 immediately. Otherwise, call our office and we'll help you right away.
